We have had the perfect start to our adventures! We stayed with the beautiful Lauren & Nick & gorgeous Sophie who is walking very ably and particularly enjoys charging uphill shouting ‘Aaargh’.
After a dinner of short rib steak (David also in the kitchen) salad & delicious mozzarella we were the very first visitors to sleep in the spare room in their new condo – spacious, leafy & elegant.
We slept somewhat erratically but were up in time to watch Sophie polish off 3 weetabix, a banana and a whole piece of toast – very impressive! & after our breakfast we walked the 15 minutes to the fantastic botanic gardens & Unesco World Heritage orchid garden. It did not disappoint as you will see from the photos. Everything was perfect & particularly nice to enjoy them outdoors instead of in a greenhouse like at Kew.
Although Lauren assured us we were lucky with the weather (slightly overcast) it was sultry enough to change the colour of David’s shirt & we were happy to cool off in the condo swimming pool while Sophie enjoyed her nap.
After lunch round the corner & some repacking it’s back to the airport & onto Perth!
