
We finally had a good night’s sleep and got our enormous 4×4 SUV & headed North. The roads are all new with a train down the middle of the highway – the benefits of pioneer planning!

We finally had a good night’s sleep and got our enormous 4×4 SUV & headed North. The roads are all new with a train down the middle of the highway – the benefits of pioneer planning!
We joined the commuters on the train feeling underdressed in our shorts among all the workers of Perth. We got off at Fremantle and went to the Maritime museum.


Today we were up early & walked round the corner to King’s Park – despite being bowled over by the orchids in Singapore yesterday, this was even more exciting. So many unfamiliar beautiful trees and flowers bursting with Spring growth. We were welcomed by rainbow lorikeets and over-excited red wattle birds flying low in close formation courtship displays. We have had the perfect start to our adventures! We stayed with the beautiful Lauren & Nick & gorgeous Sophie who is walking very ably and particularly enjoys charging uphill shouting ‘Aaargh’.
