Yesterday I wasn’t sure I was going to do this loop to Ostuni as it is the hilliest ride with the longest distance – about 50km – because my back has been bothering me.

After we left our little stone house and were soon skimming along the country lanes.

We did a loop ride today through rolling country- mostly downhill at first!

We left the screaming swifts (they are everywhere in wonderful abundance) and headed into the countryside. Lots of olive groves with broad beans growing among them.

We set off North and stopped to look at charming Polignano a Mare tucked behind its sea wall. Although very picturesque it was on everyone else’s itinerary too with large coach groups and school children thronging through the tiny alleyways.
