When they got ashore they realised they weren\u2019t men, they were kangaroos.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nSo they killed and ate 31 of them and the voyage was saved.<\/p>\n<p>Aboriginals had lived here before the island was separated from the mainland but there were none here when Europeans arrived.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" title=\"11\/16\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BIRU-WP-20181116T102640GMT1030.jpg\" alt=\"11\/16\/18\" width=\"1173\" height=\"879\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We visited Seal Bay to see the sea lions- these are quite endangered so they are monitoring the still declining numbers. Can you spot it?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"11\/17\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BIRU-WP-20181117T093206GMT1030-1152x1536.jpg\" alt=\"11\/17\/18\" width=\"1152\" height=\"1536\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So 18 were brought over &amp; now there are 50,000!
