We also spotted 2 Australian bustards &#8211; great big things near the road &#8211; this photo is from internet but they looked just as haughty.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"10\/15\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T092253GMT0800-1536x1152.jpg\" alt=\"10\/15\/18\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1152\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium_large\" title=\"10\/15\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T202641GMT0800-768x563.jpg\" alt=\"10\/15\/18\" width=\"768\" height=\"563\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We got our fins etc from the helpful and friendly snorkel company man on the beach (have I said how friendly and helpful everyone is here?) and walked down the pristine white sands next to turquoise water and got ready. The water is cooler than the Med but pleasant enough. I wore shorts and a rash vest as I am paranoid about sunburn!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"BIRU-WP-20181015T104021GMT0800.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T104021GMT0800-1536x1152.jpg\" alt=\"BIRU-WP-20181015T104021GMT0800.jpg\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1152\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The coral was enormous with curling forms several meters across and huge branching forms ending in purple or blue tips. I don\u2019t know if it was suffering from bleaching or not but it was very beautiful. There were lots of fish: parrot fish, Susans, prisoner fish etc and ones that looked like they\u2019d been designed by a \u201870s wallpaper artist.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"10\/15\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T164650GMT0800-1536x1226.jpg\" alt=\"10\/15\/18\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1226\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"10\/15\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T163844GMT0800-1536x1142.jpg\" alt=\"10\/15\/18\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1142\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"10\/15\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T163820GMT0800-1536x1152.jpg\" alt=\"10\/15\/18\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1152\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We drifted down with the current til we were a bit chilly. After our picnic lunch we headed North again to Exmouth. (Pronounced Ex- mouth).<\/p>\n<p>The Northern bush was sparser, although still some tiny flowers, and we were surrounded by termite mounds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"10\/15\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T132227GMT0800-1536x1152.jpg\" alt=\"10\/15\/18\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1152\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We did the boring stuff: checked in, picked up the bags for the kayaking -Hal remembers my good friend Elizabeth Potter &#8211; and said it was a long time ago and remembered she\u2019s a good swimmer! I\u2019ve got 2 days to find out what else he remembers \ud83d\ude01<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m paranoid about the heat (30 degrees) and no shade for 2 days &#8211; they give us long sleeve tops &amp; hats &amp; I\u2019ve just bought some long swimming leggings from the hotel!<\/p>\n<p>We swam in the pool &#8211; lovely!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large\" title=\"10\/15\/18\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.holloway.me.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/BIRU-WP-20181015T164843GMT0800-1536x1152.jpg\" alt=\"10\/15\/18\" width=\"1536\" height=\"1152\" data-json=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We miss all our friends and family and wish you were all enjoying our adventures with us!<\/p>\n<p>There may be a delay before the next blog as we are going kayaking for 2 days off-line!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Up early again (what\u2019s happened to us??) and off North again to Coral Bay for our first snorkel.
